About

Wizard of Wag

We are a dog walking and pet sitting service based in South Philadelphia. With years of pet care experience and clients who love us! We aim to provide professional, reliable, flexible pet care with a focus on safety and compassion. We offer pet care 7 days a week! Fully-Insured.

Being the Wizard of Wag means I spend time to really get to know your animals and all of their little quirks. Particularly, with my long term clients, we develop our own language. I know when your pet needs some extra scritches, to play ball, has an upset tummy, or just really has to go! The Wizard of Wag has an awareness of the environment too! That way your pet can stay happy and safe for our entire time together.

About Lauren

Growing up in rural Southern Maryland, Lauren has had all sorts of pets, from cats and dogs, to ducks, lizards, and rabbits. Living in Philly the past 11 years, they have been the go-to pet sitter for friends and have been walking professionally for 4 years, and are no stranger to the urban environment. Lauren enjoys working with all breeds and personality of pups, large and small. Lauren lives with a 12 year old pug, Rocko, who is still full of spunk, and shares Lauren’s love of the outdoors.

When not walking, Lauren can be found outside in the garden, or on a trail, painting, drawing, or designing!

Land Acknowledgement

Being outside so often helps me connect to the land and as someone not native to this place I offer this land acknowledgement of the Lenni Lenape. You can learn more about the Lenape nation at lenape-nation.org and nlltribe.com

The land upon which we serve is “part of the traditional territory of the Lenni-Lenape, called “Lenapehoking.” The Lenape People lived in harmony with one another upon this territory for thousands of years. During the colonial era and early federal period, many were removed west and north, but some also remain among the continuing historical tribal communities of the region: The Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation; the Ramapough Lenape Nation; and the Powhatan Renape Nation, The Nanticoke of Millsboro Delaware, and the Lenape of Cheswold Delaware. We acknowledge the Lenni-Lenape as the original people of this land and their continuing relationship with their territory. In our acknowledgment of the continued presence of Lenape people in their homeland, we affirm the aspiration of the great Lenape Chief Tamanend, that there be harmony between the indigenous people of this land and the descendants of the immigrants to this land, “as long as the rivers and creeks flow, and the sun, moon, and stars shine.””
